In 2019, Begood Toya Mother landed the stables first Group one victory, a win that helped launch Daniel as a trainer. Eight wins from 30 starts and over $740,000 in prizemoney will forever keep his name up in lights, but the current stable star is putting up great numbers of his own.
A career best three-race winning streak at Flemington earlier this year meant Daniel’s radar was always transfixed to this race. Off the back of a solid Casterton jump out win in July, the team went interstate for a solid fourth placing over 1200m in the G3 Behemeth at Morphettville before striking a red hot G1 Memsie at Caulfield won by potential superstar mare Treasure the Moment.
With his fitness levels high, he will go to the race in very good order, but Daniel is also mindful how he races will determine the rest of his Spring program. “Depending on how he performs, we do have a few other options.”
Good luck to all his connections!
