After jumping well, Julius positioned the 4YO mare on speed behind the leaders before pushing clear for a strong two length win at the post. In only her second racing preparation the daughter of I Am Immortal looks to have returned a more rounded racehorse. Three runs late last year showed some promise, a second at Mount Gambier over 1200m her best effort.
With no big plans in place, Daniel is content to let her continue to develop by racing her through the grades at country level.“We will let her tell us how far she can go this preparation, just finding the right races at country level the go at this stage.”
A 2023 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale graduate, Daniel in conjunction with Bevan Smith Bloodstock paid $36,000 for the filly. By former speedy racehorse I Am Immortal, the depth of the filly’s pedigree lies through broodmare Fighting Flyer, a daughter of champion sire Fastnet Rock who sadly passed away in recent days.
Five starts for a win and second placing and over $25,000 in prizemoney has seen most of the original purchase price returned.
Congratulations to all her connections.
