In front of a 5000 strong crowd, the mare was handled beautifully by Neil Farley around the tricky circuit.
Box-seating for most of the race, Farley had to bide his time as the field approached the home turn.
With four horses abreast at the 300m mark, the short straight was looking an issue as they waited for a run between the tiring leaders headed by Lady Ardoyne.
But there was little to worry about, the 5YO daughter of Von Costa De Hero sprinting quickly once she seen daylight.
She had over two lengths to spare over runner-up Mazzle inclaiming the Bet365 Protest Promise BM64 Handicap over 1350m.
Her third career victory, the mare has won two races from three starts this preparation, a win at Penshurst in November kicking off this successful campaign.
The win was welcomed after a frustrating day for the team at Warrnambool at the Woodford Cup meeting the day before.
From our five runners we netted three placings, including a close-up second with our promising galloper Miso.
The 2022 season ended with plenty of wins, seven during November and December, Strawberry Moon being the last for the year winning at Terang on December 20th.
With the Burrumbeet success, hopefully the winners continue to flow through the summer period into Autumn.
Congratulations to Honour De Hero’s owners, she is in terrific form and very well placed at this time of the season.
