Previously, the son of El Roca kicked off his winning streak with wins at Warrnambool and Hamilton before injury struck.
Almost sixteen months later following plenty of rest and rehab, Daniel is happy for the 4YO to return to the track.
A gallop last week at Camperdown convinced him he was ready. “During a couple of trials, I thought he may have been looking after himself, but his gallop at Camperdown was really good.”
The Westmeath BM78 Handicap over 1200m, fitted perfectly within the calendar, and while always hoping to win, Daniel was more realistic in his expectations.
“All we hope for is him hitting the line and pulling up well. It’s a strong race, but for us a win is getting through with a fit and healthy horse after a nice run.”
Melissa Julius has done plenty of work on the gelding and will ride from a nice low barrier in three.
“Mel has been riding him in most of his work and knows him well, she also knows what I want from him in his comeback run.”
An $8 chance, he is on the fifth line of betting behind race favourite and topweight Maximus Prince.
