Winding back the clock to April last year, the daughter of Rich Enuff was an easy Ballarat Maiden winner, before a big win in the VOBIS Gold Strike for 2YO’s on the opening day of the Warrnambool May Carnival.
On both occasions she led and won easily.
Sent for a spell with Spring in mind, three unflattering runs seen her sent back to the paddock to allow her to grow and mature. And that she did.
This preparation has been based around getting her to settle better and considering her first-up success at Horsham in the Dallas Rintoule Memorial BM64 Handicap over 1100m, Daniel and the team look to be on track.
Melissa Julius has been doing most of the work on the now 3YO filly, and after a beautiful ride, the pair proved too strong for her rivals winning easily by just under two lengths.
The ride and efforts off track were not lost on Daniel.
“It was a top ride by Melissa, and well-deserved for all her work with a tricky filly.”
After jumping well, the pair settled nicely in behind the speed before being produced at the home turn to defeat her main rival in betting, Conclave Prince.
Daniel indicated a race at Morphettville in the coming weeks could be on the agenda.
Congratulations to all connections!
