Jacko, as he is known around the stables, was ridden by Japanese apprentice Akatsuki Tomita, who moved to Australia to further his experience as a jockey.
Tomita gave him the perfect ride, sitting just off the main speed in fourth position throughout. He angled into the better going at the top of the straight, careering away to win by 2 lengths.
The sea change and the new environment seems to have done the trick for Jacko and we look forward to continuing to train this consistent stayer.
Congratulations to his owners, who are all new to the stable.
