At Swan Hill, the talented filly Golden Halo (Your Song x Santenay) won with ease with apprentice Jessica Eaton aboard. This was a textbook ride by the young apprentice which resulted in a textbook win. Golden Halo sat just off the pace and just before the home turn Jessica guided the filly to the outside and within three strides she had them covered. It was a sensational win and although it was a drop back in grade, it will give the filly enormous confidence going forward.
Kwott Rocky, left, (Snitzel x Bright Heart) had been knocking on the door for a few weeks heading into a set weights maiden race at Edenhope on Sunday. After jumping strongly, this gelding found the front, but was facing the breeze and was pressured for the entire race. Heading into the straight, Kwott Rocky was left a sitting duck in the lead, especially as the odds-on favourite was breathing down his neck. But much to the delight of the stable and apprentice Jack Martin, Kwott Rocky kicked, and kicked strongly to break his Maiden.
Not long after the winning performance of Kwott Rocky at Edenhope, Berry Dangerous (Jakkalberry x Ultra Explosive) saluted at Swan Hill. From the outside barrier, top jockey Dean Yendall was able to slot over and sit just in behind the leaders. With the favourite to his inside, Dean was able to bide his time and get to the outside to produce an explosive burst to win by a long neck.
Alongwith our winners for the weekend, Urban Armour and Do The Hippy featured in the placings and look to have a win in store just around the corner.
Congratulations to all our owners involved with the three winners.
