Two year old filly "Moon Over Alice" had to overcome the outside barrier to secure her Maiden victory at Geelong on Friday.
The plan was to settle in the second half of the field, but after a few of the first starters were slow to begin, Ben Allen used his initiative and rolled forward. Although she was quite wayward in the home straight, her race experience paid off to win by three quarters of a length.
The Your Song filly was purchased from the Classic Sale last year. She has had three starts to date for a win, a second and a fifth in a Listed race at Flemington.
No doubt she will continue to provide her owner with a lot of fun.
